i wound up running one of those captain rujiyo quests with a 13 yr old kid from australia... almost finished it, too. he was pretty good.
i dunno, the alt-f4 thing doesn't strike me as anything to get all worked up over. it could be annoying if overdone, but i rarely see it very often. by its very nature, it's a joke that, if it were to become a "Fad", too many people would see it/know about it for it to fool anyone. so, it winds up being a joke with Longevity, so long as it stays below a certain attention-threshhold.
i don't want to seem like i'm defending the jerks, but some of the examples given (like the one a few posts up about jumping off cliffs, and cults) are just... stupid. it's a joke, cmon, lighten up. nobody dies. people might even learn something (alt-f4 closes programs! wow!)...
and, as a final note, no, i don't go around telling people to do this. i just think it's marginally funny when someone else does it, and suddenly there's only 3 people left in the zone... :P

I only fell for the Alt F4 trick once playing Halo multiplayer ages ago, it was so embarassing
Also, a weird event today, I was on tombs the fourth level clearing out the chamber, and we were talking about rage quitting, and I said : Alt F4, rage quiter's best friend.

I just came out of an afternoon in factions and - honestly - I have never had such a stressful experience on gw. I had to start and restart things over and over again because people kept quitting over the smallest mishap and spamming that the whole party were RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing noobs etc. etc.
I was flamed and trash talked for letting someone lower than lvl 20 into the group and yelled at about my build. I had someone pm me with insults because I wasn't ready when they went into a mission (even though I had said wait a sec plz) and on and on.
I haven't been playing in cantha much so far. It seemed to me that people were a lot nastier and all that jazz there than in prophecies. I don't have a big guild but don't want to leave mine either so I have to do things with just hench and one guildie or suffer abuse and mappers. Reading this I am wondering if all the decent people playing this game only play in closed guild groups now which means that there are a higher percentage of gits in pugs.....
sigh.

LOL they didn't even ask what it did before they tried it, LOL! That's just sad, I feel so sorry for you. We were doing a bout of HoH and the other team told us to press Alt F4 for something special, of course none of us did but two on their team did... LMAO!
I thought we would fall out of our chairs... Then another one logged cause the other two did... I just... wow LMAO! It's mean but also so funny when it happens.

People were especially horrible in the newbie areas, and I'm afraid that's turning off new players. I've been playing GW since March '05. And I do think its as bad as I made out.
Have you ever played another online game? They're not usually like this. Not even in the Barrens in WOW, which was famous for being horrible. At least people were helpful.
